Mercas Loredana and her mother wait for the medical team as the "Flight For
Life" doctors and nurses tour the Fundeni Clinical Hospital, Bucharest,
pediatric ward to meet their new patients and pick out the first three surgical
cases for the next day, starting early in the morning. The three selected tonight
won't be able to eat or drink anything after midnight. Many of the mothers and
children have already been in the hospital for a week, waiting.
