Unable To Save Him
Wabash County Sheriff's Deputy Bill Brainerd holds his burned
hands helplessly before him as he paces around the burning
wreckage of a dump truck loaded with asphalt that just struck
a freight train at a crossing. The trapped victim, yelling for
help, could not be reached in time due to the twisted metal
and the rapidly growing flames.
