"Flags In" Day
In the early golden light of dawn, an Army soldier
takes care to straighten a flag placed exactly one foot in
front of each headstone on the Friday before Memorial
Day weekend. "In Honor Of My Dad, Capt., U.S.M.C."
reads a handwritten note taped to a flower, placed at
the foot of a warrior's resting place for the holiday.
