Racing The Odds
Flying fast across the flat farmland of
northern Indiana, a critical patient is
not even aware that she is riding in
a helicopter, or that instead of a three
hour drive she is on a thirty-minute
flight. Many small towns and rural
locations are hours from advanced
trauma care; appropriate medical
attention within the first hour
of injury dramatically increases
the odds for survival.
